Helpmate Orphanage and Charity Foundation was born from one simple but powerful truth. No child should suffer because of the circumstances they were born into. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, nurturing, and empowering orphaned and vulnerable children across West Africa, starting from the heart of Nigeria.
Our mission is not just to provide relief. It is to restore dignity, spark potential, and build futures. We believe every child carries within them the seed of greatness and our job is to water it. We do not just give children what they need to survive. We give them everything they need to thrive.

Our work is built around five essential pillars. These are the five things every child needs not just to survive, but to grow into a confident, healthy, and empowered human being.
Education
Knowledge Is the Greatest Gift
We believe education is the single most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty. We enroll children in schools, provide learning materials, pay school fees, and run literacy programs for those who have never had access to a classroom. A child with an education has a future no one can take away.
Healthcare
Healthy Children, Hopeful Futures
Many of the children we serve have never seen a doctor. We provide regular medical check-ups, vaccinations, emergency healthcare, and mental health support. A healthy child is a happy child and every child in our care deserves to be both.
Empowerment
Building Confidence From the Inside Out
Beyond the basics, we invest in the whole child. Through mentorship programs, vocational skills training for older youth, leadership workshops, and counseling, we equip our children with the confidence and tools to shape their own destinies. Because a child who knows their worth can conquer anything the world throws at them.
Food
No Child Should Go to Bed Hungry
Hunger is one of the most silent crises facing children in West Africa. We provide daily nutritious meals to children in our care and run food outreach programs in underserved communities. You cannot expect a child to learn, play, or dream on an empty stomach. So we make sure they never have to.
Clothing
Dignity Begins With Being Clothed
Something as simple as a clean school uniform or a warm pair of shoes can restore a child’s sense of dignity and belonging. We provide clothing, footwear, and personal care items so every child in our program can stand tall with confidence and pride.
We currently serve children in Nigeria and are actively expanding our reach across West Africa including Ghana, Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Sierra Leone. One region at a time. One child at a time.
The Bigger Picture
When We Save a Child, We Save a Generation.
There are over 57 million orphaned and vulnerable children in sub-Saharan Africa. In West Africa alone, millions of children are growing up without access to food, education, or basic healthcare. Not because they are less deserving, but simply because no one stepped in.
When a child is left without support, the consequences do not stay with that child alone. They ripple outward into families, into communities, and into entire nations.
A child without education becomes an adult without opportunity. A child without healthcare becomes a burden on a fragile system. A child without love becomes a person who struggles to give it. But a child who is given care, education, and dignity? That child becomes a doctor, a teacher, a leader, a builder of nations.
